Personal Training
Whatever your fitness level or goals, personal training can help you to become fitter, healthier and reach your personal targets. Sometimes we all need that extra encouragement, support, advice and motivation, whether you've just started out on your fitness journey or you’re aiming to run a marathon.
Before you contact me, ask yourself: are you are fully prepared to give your best effort? No half measures here. Try to give yourself a realistic goal. I will then advise what steps need to be taken. You will need to undertake a Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and a basic health check before we get started. This will enable me to discover any mobility or health issues so training can be tailored to your specific needs.
Functional Movement Screen (FMS)
The FMS generates the Functional Movement Screen Score, which is used to target problems and track progress. This scoring system is directly linked to the most beneficial corrective exercises to restore mechanically sound movement patterns.
The assessment will allow me to check for any current or potential problems. This could be recognising muscle imbalances or noticing pain while moving in certain patterns. Once completed I will be able to advise you on the changes that need to be put in place.
The number one cause of injury is a past injury. Not rehabilitating properly means the chance of it happening again rapidly increases. The second highest cause of injury is a muscle imbalance. Getting your body aligned is going to give you a great chance of keeping injury free.
"I started training a year or so ago and love it! Kevin’s style of teaching is brilliant; the workout is intense but highly enjoyable and lots of fun. I look forward to 7:15 am more than anything else during the week, slightly worrying but true!"
